The XZIOX™ Domestic Water Treatment & Recycling System is the complete safe and easy way to treat your home’s water supply. The unit treats your incoming mains water supply and also treats ‘grey water’ that is safe to your home, plants, lawn, trees and shrubs.
CHARACTERISTICS OF HOUSEHOLD WASTEWATER – GREYWATER
There are essentially three different greywater streams, they are:
- Bathroom Greywater (bath, basin and shower) – contributes about 55% of the total greywater volume. Bathroom greywater can be contaminated with hair, soaps, shampoos, hair dyes, toothpaste, lint, nutrients, body fats, oils and cleaning products.
- Laundry Greywater – contributes about 34% of the total greywater volume.
- Kitchen Greywater – contributes about 11% of the total greywater volume. Kitchen greywater is heavily polluted with food particles, cooking oils, grease, detergents, and other cleaning products such as dishwashing powders. The detergents and cleaning products may be alkaline and contain chemicals that are harmful to soil structure, plants and groundwater.
The IWS system not only recycles shower, bath and hand basin discharge water for safe re-use in flushing toilets and irrigation it also treats the incoming water to your home.
By treating your incoming water with XZIOX™, you will benefit from significantly reducing unwanted and hazardous chlorine by-products such as Trihalomethane (THM) and chloramines.
